What draws me to birth work?

Before discovering birth work, I worked in the mining engineering industry but always felt called toward something more meaningful and creative. During my first pregnancy, while searching for ways to ease my fears around childbirth, I found the world of doulas - and after experiencing that support in my own birth, I knew I wanted to help other families feel empowered too. My own journey taught me that while birth is often unpredictable, the right support can help you feel heard, safe, and strong throughout it all.

Currently, I am completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Since 2015, I have been a Childbirth Educator and Certified Birth Doula through DONA International, and a Birthing From Within Doula & Mentor. I have worked within the birth community at Lucina Birth Centre and Lucina Midwives since 2022. I am long-standing member of the Association for Safe Alternatives in Childbirth, the Doula Association of Edmonton, and have completed the Spinning Babies® Workshop.

Originally from Ontario, my husband and I are raising two little wildlings of our own while trying to find that magical thing called “balance.”
